| Abstract: | Students in the School of Architecture's Fall 2009 Advanced Design Studio on Sustainable Architecture were asked to design a railway station that would serve as a central hub for the Austin metro area's proposed high-speed rail service. This document is a compiled selection of plans, diagrams and virtual 3-D renderings created by the studio participants. As instructor and editor Wilfried Wang says in his introduction, these proposals address the project with "a boldness and realistic utopianism that is necessary to sustain the ensuing extensive and aggrevated public debates". |
